How it works
Dried biomass feedstock enters the CarboFlow carbonization unit via a dual feed auger system. Rotary valves release measured quantities of the feedstock into the lower chamber. Here, in a high temperature, low-oxygen environment, the feedstock undergoes continuous pyrolysis and is transformed into biochar and syngas.
While the biochar is quenched and discharged into bunkers, the released syngas is passed into the upper chamber where it is combusted. The green energy from the hot flue gases is captured and can power heat applications or electricity generation through ORCs. The spent flue gases are then passed through a scrubbing system to ensure no harmful emissions are released into the atmosphere.
